Scout & Cellar…Wine Not?

The other day I had an Instagram message request from a woman named Mandy. I was hosting a giveaway at the time, so I was trying to follow new accounts to increase my exposure, and I had randomly followed her account. I felt as though I stood out to her for some reason. In the nicest way, she messaged me to see if I had ever heard of ‘Scout & Cellar’ wines. Surprisingly I hadn’t despite self-proclaiming myself as a wine connoisseur.

She gave me her pitch – and let me tell you, I was intrigued. With the current climate of my full-time job as an event planner being slower than ever, I have been struggling to get myself motivated and into some sort of routine. I feel lazy…. all the time. I don’t have much of a desire or drive to do anything but binge watch Peaky Blinders. Anyone else feeling this way a lot lately? So when she approached me with this opportunity, I didn’t just brush it off. Instead, I gave it some deep thought.

If I am being honest, part of me thought this was definitely screaming Monat haircare vibes (which no offense, is just not the vibe I was looking for).  But Mandy was convincing, seemed successful (by the looks of her Instagram), and confidently assured me I truly had nothing to lose. The more I thought about it, the more joining the Scout & Cellar team seemed like it was in my wheelhouse. It will give me a community to connect with, a new opportunity to challenge myself on, and a platform to continue learning. How wild. Mandy, who was just a stranger just 24 hours ago, is now my role model, my go-to, the answers to my questions… my business partner.

Sometimes, when it feels right, you just have to say…wine not?

I purchased the starter kit. I am IN. I am officially a Scout & Cellar Wine Consultant! After reviewing my welcome materials, Scout & Cellar leadership tells you to define and clarify your “whys?” To kick-off this new adventure, I wanted to share with ya’ll what ultimately lead me to join this amazing team of wine consultants:

1.      No financial risk. Aside from buying a starter kit – which includes 4 bottles of wine (hell yes!) – there was no financial burden. To be honest, I don’t need to do this for money. Of course, we all like to make some extra money here and there so it is definitely an added bonus. However, there was a sense of if I fail, it’s not the end of the world. But if I succeed, it will be great.

2.      Time to challenge myself. I have been craving a sense of challenge… like I need something to stimulate my brain and work my creative muscles. Could this be it?

3.      Resume builder. I went to college for Hospitality – and I actually took a course in wine tasting. This fits on my resume perfectly.

4.      Event planner at heart. Planning tastings for friends and family, whether live or virtual, is in my nature. I already started thinking about the cheese boards and placemats I could create to elevate the experience.

5.      Lastly, WINE. Clean-crafted wine to be more specific.  At this point, my body content is probably made up of 60% wine since quarantine started. So if there is a way to somehow profit on my love for wine, while drinking and creating content around wine… sign. me. up.

So what’s next…we drink! Check out my Scout and Cellar page here to see all the wines we have to offer, how to sign up to be apart of our wine club (automatic wine on demand - hello!), how to host a tasting (psst, there are host perks!) and more.

Need a birthday gift? Thank you gift perhaps? Want to host a client event? What are you waiting for… Get in touch! Do my “whys” sound like they align with yours? Join my team now!

Cheers!

XO… Just Jac
